What this tool does to your file

Rearranging pages here is a change to the document's page tree rather than a re-render: every page is moved as the object it always was, so selectable text, links, form fields, page sizes and per-page rotation all survive the move. Your file is read in your browser to draw the thumbnails, so the pages appear while the upload is still in progress and nothing has to be rendered on a server for you to see them. Drag a page tile to the position you want it in and the pages around it shuffle up or down to make room; each tile shows where the page will end up and, underneath, which page it was in the file you uploaded, because those stop being the same number as soon as anything moves. You can also reorder with the keyboard, and Reset order puts the document back the way it arrived. Nothing is ever dropped — a rearrangement moves pages and always returns every one of them, so if you want a shorter document use Remove PDF pages or Extract PDF pages instead. At least one page has to actually move, since leaving the order alone would simply hand back the file you uploaded. One file per job.
