What this tool does to your file
Each output file is a copy of the pages you asked for, lifted out of the source without re-encoding, so a split page is byte-for-byte the page you started with. You can cut by page range or ask for one file per page — the second is a separate mode rather than a range you type, because the page count is only known once the file is open. Each produced part carries only the resources that page actually draws, so splitting a 300-page report does not give you 300 copies of every font and image it contained. Bookmarks and links that pointed at pages outside the range they were split into will no longer resolve. The parts come back as a zip when there is more than one. A single upload is limited to 10 MB as a guest and 25 MB signed in.
What happens to your files
- No account needed — Every tool works as a guest. Signing in raises the limits and keeps your files together, but nothing asks you to register before you get a result.
- It runs in your browser — There is nothing to install and nothing to keep up to date. Files travel to our servers over an encrypted connection, and come back the same way.
- Your files stay yours — Files and results stay in your account until you delete them. Files from a guest session that is never linked to an account are removed automatically after a period of inactivity.
- Size limits, stated up front — Up to 10 MB per file as a guest, and up to 25 MB signed in. You see the limit before you upload, not after.
