Convert PDF to HTML
Turn a PDF into HTML you can publish on a web page or reuse elsewhere.
How it works
- Drag and drop your PDF file below.
- Click Convert to download as an HTML file.
What this tool does to your file
The PDF’s text is extracted and written as HTML, so its content can go into a web page or a template. What you get is the wording in reading order, marked up as ordinary paragraphs — not a visual reproduction of the page. A PDF records the position of each glyph and nothing about whether it was a heading, a list or a table cell, so that structure cannot be recovered and is not guessed at. Images are not extracted, and no stylesheet is produced. A scanned PDF has no text layer and yields nothing. This is the right tool when you want the words on the web and intend to style them yourself, and the wrong one if you were hoping for a pixel-accurate copy of the document.
What happens to your files
- No account needed — Every tool works as a guest. Signing in raises the limits and keeps your files together, but nothing asks you to register before you get a result.
- It runs in your browser — There is nothing to install and nothing to keep up to date. Files travel to our servers over an encrypted connection, and come back the same way.
- Deleted means deleted — When you delete a file, it is erased from our storage straight away, with no hidden copies or backups. Uploads and results are deleted five minutes after you download your result: always as a guest, and by default with an account.
- Size limits, stated up front — Up to 10 MB per file as a guest, and up to 25 MB signed in. You see the limit before you upload, not after.
