Convert PDF to Word
Turn a PDF back into an editable Word document instead of retyping it.
How it works
- Drag and drop your PDF file(s) below.
- Click Convert to download as a DOCX file.
What this tool does to your file
The PDF’s text is extracted and written into a Word document you can edit. This is a text conversion, not a layout one, and the distinction is the whole story: a PDF records where glyphs were painted, not that a run of them was a heading or a table cell, so what comes back is the wording in reading order rather than a visual replica. Columns, text boxes and tables are flattened into ordinary paragraphs. Images are not carried across. A scanned PDF — one whose pages are photographs of text — yields nothing to extract, because there is no text layer to read; that needs OCR, which is a different tool. Fonts are not embedded into the result; your copy of Word substitutes its own. Use it when you need the words back to edit, not when you need the page to look the same.
What happens to your files
- No account needed — Every tool works as a guest. Signing in raises the limits and keeps your files together, but nothing asks you to register before you get a result.
- It runs in your browser — There is nothing to install and nothing to keep up to date. Files travel to our servers over an encrypted connection, and come back the same way.
- Deleted means deleted — When you delete a file, it is erased from our storage straight away, with no hidden copies or backups. Uploads and results are deleted five minutes after you download your result: always as a guest, and by default with an account.
- Size limits, stated up front — Up to 10 MB per file as a guest, and up to 25 MB signed in. You see the limit before you upload, not after.
