What this tool does to your file
Each visible worksheet is rendered to its own image — PNG, JPEG or TIFF — and the set comes back as a zip. This is a real grid render rather than a conversion through PDF: cell borders and gridlines, fill colours, font styling, alignment and text are drawn from each column’s and row’s actual width and height, so the picture looks like the sheet. One image per sheet, not per printed page, so a wide sheet stays whole instead of being broken across page boundaries. Hidden sheets are skipped. Reads both .xlsx and legacy .xls, picking the reader from the file’s signature rather than its extension. A single rendered image is capped at 24 million pixels, so a very large sheet is limited by its area rather than its file size. Legacy .xls uploads are capped at 25 MB whatever your tier.
What happens to your files
- No account needed — Every tool works as a guest. Signing in raises the limits and keeps your files together, but nothing asks you to register before you get a result.
- It runs in your browser — There is nothing to install and nothing to keep up to date. Files travel to our servers over an encrypted connection, and come back the same way.
- Your files stay yours — Files and results stay in your account until you delete them. Files from a guest session that is never linked to an account are removed automatically after a period of inactivity.
- Size limits, stated up front — Up to 10 MB per file as a guest, and up to 25 MB signed in. You see the limit before you upload, not after.
